ART
Christine Owen's Unique Art Program
Our aim is to help your children build their confidence, learn new skills, think creatively, and make new friends along the way. Take a look down below for some examples of what your child will be doing
Taught by a local artist, Christine Owens is an accomplished artist who:
-
Holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Wayne State University
-
Previously worked as an Art Director for an arts and cultural center in Michigan
-
Now enjoys running our art classes and camps
-
Is experienced and passionate in teaching Art to multiple students at once
There are many reasons why art education is important for a child’s development. Studying visual arts can help unlock creativity and imagination, help develop motor skills and brain development, build confidence, improve academic performance and focus. In addition, art education provides links to math, science, language development, and understanding social and cultural diversity.

In our classes, your children will learn about famous artists like Vincent Van Gogh, Henri Matisse, and Georgia O’Keeffe. They will create art projects using different art mediums like watercolors, acrylics, and pastels. All of the artwork the children make in our classrooms will be able to go home with them so they can display their work and show their family what they have learned.
Children are encouraged to bring an art smock or over sized t-shirt to wear over their clothes during class.
