At Murphy Learning Center, we teach differently by combining conceptual learning with the Socratic method to create a deeper, more meaningful educational experience. Our teachers guide students through well-planned, curriculum-backed one-hour sessions in small groups of 1–4 students, thoughtfully grouped by grade level to ensure personalized attention.
How does Conceptual Learning work?
Conceptual learning at Murphy Learning Center goes beyond memorizing formulas or procedures. Students are encouraged to understand the “why” behind each concept, connecting ideas across topics and seeing patterns that help them apply knowledge in new situations. For example, in math, rather than simply learning to solve equations, students explore the logic behind each step, relate abstract concepts to real-world examples, and tackle word problems that develop reasoning skills.
